O God make speed to save me.
O Lord make haste to help me.

Glory to Father and Son and Holy Spirit, *
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be. Amen.

Psalm 4

Give me an answer,
God, when I call to you.
You are my truth,
you give me freedom
when I am oppressed -
have mercy on me,
hear my prayer.

Man how long
will your heart remain hardened,
will you go for appearances
and run after lies?
Do you not know
that God has a friend,
that he makes him great,
and so - that he listens
if I call to him?

Admit defeat
and sin no more,
brand it on your mind
before you sleep,
come to yourself.
Bring your gifts
just as you are,
put your trust
in our God.

Many are asking:
"Who makes us happy?"
Bless us with
the light of your eyes,
Lord our God.
You have given me
greater joy
than all those others
with their riches,
wheat and wine.

In peace I lie down
and I sleep at once.
You make me live
safe and sound, Lord God,
you alone.

Psalm 134

Come bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord. * Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Zion, * he who made heaven and earth.
Glory to Father and Son and Holy Spirit, * as it as in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

Silent prayer

Chapter:

Thanks be to God.

Keep me, O Lord, as the apple of the eye.
Hide me in the shadow of your wings.

We praise you, Father, for your gift
Of dusk and nightfall over earth,
Foreshadowing the mystery
Of death that leads to endless day.

Within your hands we rest secure;
In quiet sleep our strength renew:
Yet give your people hearts that wake
In love to you, unsleeping Lord.

Your glory may we ever seek
In rest as in activity,
Until its fulness is revealed,
O source of life, O Trinity. Amen.

Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

May the almighty and merciful Lord,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
bless and keep us.
Amen.
